Hayden and I are flying to Texas on Sunday! Matt has a conference in St.Louis so we are going to stay with my parents. Matt will be flying into Dallas on Wednesday to meet up with us and then we are going to spend the weekend hanging out with the other grandparents. I'm sure both sets of grandparents are chomping at the bit to get their hands on Hayden. Seeing pictures of him daily is probably a bit of a tease! I always get really nervous when I'm about to fly with him just because of "fear of the unknown." Now that he's so active and very particular about where and when he takes a nap, I'm really sweating it. I'll have Matt with me on the way home, but going out it's just us. Hopefully the plane won't be full and I can have more than one seat. Trust me, when people see a baby, they start looking for the empty seat. They act like they are being nice..."Here, you take all three seats and spread out...I'll look for an open seat." Yea right, they're not fooling me! I was thinking one way to scare the person next to me off is to just start nursing Hayden right when I sit down. That should do the trick:) Well, wish us luck on our 3 hour journey into the sky. Here's some new pictures of Hayden too.

Go Duke!

I guess you could say with Matt being such a big Duke fan, he's in heaven here in the ACC conference! A guy at our church had four tickets to the ACC Conference championship today and Matt was able to go and see Duke win! Hayden sported his Duke jersey for Daddy and I took a few pictures of them when he got home. I'm also adding a few more pictures of Hayden so you can see how big he's getting. We had to get rid of his "baby" toys and get him some big boy toys. He was so bored with the other ones and he is really having fun figuring out the new toys and all they can do. You can also see his cute teeth in a few of the pictures. He has two now and is working on more. He's been a little demon while he's been cutting them, but maybe he's gonna knock them all out at once...wishful thinking I guess:) He's been getting around like a little inch worm, crawling up on his toes and laying flat, up on his toes, flat etc... and he ends up going wherever he wants. He is so busy all the time and I am not looking forward to flying to Texas in April with him by myself. He used to sleep on the flights, but now I'm pretty sure his goal will be to drive the person next to me nuts! Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pictures and I'll write again soon.

We have a tooth!

So, after a couple of months of slobbering non stop, chewing on everything in sight, and a little fussing, we have a tooth. Hayden woke up Wednesday morning with a cute little tooth on the bottom row. During church this morning I could feel something popping up beside it too...number two is close behind! Our little guy is growing up so fast. Everyone told me it would just fly by, and man it is. We took a picture of the tooth while he was sleeping because when we try to show people or see for ourselves, he puts his tongue over it. I also included some fun, recent pictures on this entry. Hayden will be 6 months old on Tuesday:) We're going to be having his first birthday party before we know it!

Where I've been...so far

I got this link from a Grapevine Church friend, Hollee. I've seen this on a lot of people's blog's recently and thought I'd map my adventures thus far... As you can see, I've pretty much stayed in the south! Matt and I have always said we would love to go to all 50 states together, then our treat to each other would be Europe! I think we've got some states to visit:) It's kind of fun seeing where other people have been through the years. If you'd like to create your own map, go to www.world66.com

The First Cold

We almost made it 6 months without any sicknesses, but Hayden came down with a cold Tuesday. I'm pretty sure it's that darn Sunday school class he goes to. Ha,Ha! They did tell me instead of singing about "Pat the Bible" Hayden should sing "Eat the Bible." He's got a yucky, snotty nose, he's sneezing, and has a little cough...that sounds more like an attention getter than a sick cough! We've had a few sleepless nights this week because Hayden can't breathe out of his nose, but we are making it:) My nights are probably a little more sleepless than Matt's and Hayden's because just this week Hayden figured out he enjoys rolling over all the time. We always put him to bed on his back and immediately he has been flipping over onto his tummy. So, with a stuffy nose and a tummy sleeper, I've been getting up 50 times a night to make sure all is well. Matt took these two pictures of Hayden yesterday while he was playing. His little eyes look puffy and he's got a red nose, but he still looked like he was having a great time playing. Sweet boy!

I'm Hunting a Wabbit!!

Hayden has moved up in the bathtub world. He was freaking out a little bit in his little baby bathtub because he was laying down. So, we got his seat and we still aren't sure if he likes it. He's in a transition period where he thinks he's big, but can't sit up by himself etc... Maybe a few more baths and he will figure out he can play with his toys in this position. We started going on walks in the jogging stroller this week because it's been pretty. We bundled Hayden up and we thought he looked like Elmer Fudd in his hat! It's so fun to "trick up" your kids:)

Spoiled!

Well, I haven't posted in a few weeks, so I figured I better put something on here! I have been spending my days and nights dealing with a spoiled little baby. I have tried to blame this on anything and anyone but myself so here's my excuse...this child has been in a different state three times in 4.5 short months. We were starting to figure him out, then we went home in October. About the time we got him back to sleeping through the night and not thinking he had to be held all the time, we went home for 10 days at Christmas. Then January 10th, my grandpa passed away and off Hayden and I went to Brownwood for 8 days. Now this child thinks he can wake up three times a night and mommy will come running and he thinks he needs to sit in my lap all day. I guess we will soon find out who is more stubborn! On a good note, Hayden is loving solid food! He now eats veggies at lunch and his cereal and fruit before bed. I swear he would eat two bowls if we let him. He definitely has my appetite:) He will be 5 months old on Saturday. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I feel like I was just pregnant, swelling in the August heat! I'll post a few cute pictures of him on this post, and I promise to start updating this more often. I read our friend Jeny's and she has two boys and posts very often. I love reading about what is going on with Mitchell and Mark, so I have no excuse with just one little pill!

Christmas '05

I guess I need to add some Christmas pictures to the blog now too! We had so much fun in Texas. We spent the first part of our trip in Dallas with Matt's family and the second half in Brownwood with my family. Hayden got to sit on Santa's lap while we were in Dallas. The picture turned out really cute. He's not afraid of Santa yet! Hayden also got a lot of play time with his cousins while we were in Brownwood. The house was full with 2 babies, 2 toddlers, and 2 older cousins. I wish I could post all of our pictures, but I'll just choose a few. Oh, one more thing...the last night we were there, Hayden decided he knew how to roll over. He's only done it once since then, but at least we know he can do it!

Food!!

Hayden ate some cereal last night! We tried it when he was about 8 weeks old and it did not settle well with him. So, we decided to wait for the "ok" from the doctor. He had his 4 month checkup on Monday, January 2, and he weighed 14lb. and was 26in. long. He is going to be built like his daddy -- tall and thin. The doctor said we can start with some cereal once a day, then move on to veggies and fruit. I almost couldn't shovel the cereal in his mouth fast enough. I added a few more recent pictures of him too.

Oh Poop!

Yesterday was my first poop incident so far! It has taken almost 4 months, but he got me:) I think it may be time to move up in diaper size. I took Hayden upstairs to change his diaper and he leaked all over himself from the waste down. He also leaked on my fleece jacket and it also ran all the way down my pants to my socks. It leaked down the dresser drawers and all over his changing table. I ended up putting him in the bathtub, after having to strip down to my underwear! Of course Daddy came home about 5 minutes after all the drama was over. It's a pretty funny story...now. Hayden will be 4 months old about the time we head to Texas for Christmas. About 2 more weeks. Time is flying by!!

Almost 3 months

Well, Sunday Hayden will be 3 months old. The time has flown by, but we can hardly remember our life before him. Daddy worked from home today and it was nice to have him around. Hayden had a fussy day. I think his tummy has been hurting. We are gearing up for the holidays that are fast approaching. We will be spending Thanksgiving here with our best friends at their grandma's house. We are planning on going home for Christmas for about 10 days. We need to choose our favorite pictures of Hayden soon so we can get our Christmas cards made and in the mail. In this blog, I'm just attaching a few of our most recent pictures of Hayden. I think they really capture his personality.

Shots

And now...the saddest day of our life so far. SHOTS. We were excited because it was Halloween and we had the cutest little pea in a pod and we were going to get to see how much Hayden had grown. We were sad because our little man got four shots and Daddy had to hold him down for them. He made us realize he not only looks just like Matt, but also acts just like him. He ran fever and milked us for all the attention he could get! He was now 11lbs.12oz and was 23 and a half inches long. After two months with Hayden, we have realized he is one of the most laid back babies on earth. He rarely cries, he loves to play in his bouncy seat, and he is a cuddle bunny! His Sunday school teachers love him to death. I think they fight over who gets to hold him!

Piece of cake?

The first day of Hayden's life was filled with love from our church family. We had so many visitors, including our friends Kelly and Shauna's new little girl Jordan. She was born 12 days before Hayden. We were supposed to stay in the hospital until Tuesday morning, but we were so ready to be in our own bed, we checked out Monday afternoon. Of course we thought we could handle going home a day early, how hard could this be? Well, day three of Hayden's life was quite interesting. We ended up back at the hospital meeting with the lactation consultant because Hayden hadn't eaten for about 8 hours. After a few hours of me crying because I was the worst mom on earth, we figured out the breast feeding thing and we were waiting by the front door for some help from the grandparents. Our parents spent about a week with us, teaching us all about living with a newborn and taking lots of pictures. It was hard to see them go, but we made our first plane ride with Hayden when he was 6 weeks old to visit them in Oklahoma and Texas. He slept the whole time on the plane, which made it easy on us! He was just starting to smile, so everyone got a little taste of his precious personality.

T-minus zero

T-minus zero
It all started on August 27, 2005. The day before, I went to the doctor to try and pressure them to "get this baby out of me." Mimi and Pawpaw and Grams and Papa were coming Thursday the 1st of September and I really wanted Hayden to be here by then. Matt and I arrived at Wake Med at 8:00a.m. and were taken to the "Triage" room. (Keep in mind this is the wing of the Women's Pavilion they told us in our birthing class is never used! They said they are never full and rarely have to send people in there to wait for a room.) Well, we sat in a room with a TV with no volume, which drove Matt crazy. At 12:30p.m we were finally in our birthing room. By 1:00p.m. I was finally hooked up to my I.V., and they started my pitocin drip to get my labor started. By 1:15p.m. I was having contractions about every two minutes. 15 minutes into labor and I was already asking for my epidural. Typical Andrea right? I had contractions for about an hour and a half and then the most wonderful angel appeared...the anistesiologist! After pumping me with so much drugs that they had to give me a shot of ephedrin to bring my blood pressure back up (because I kept telling them I could feel things), I was good to go. From about 3:00p.m until 11:30p.m, we pretty much hung out and answered cell phones. We learned that day just how many people love us. I had finally dilated to a 10 and we started pushing around 11:45. Hayden Thomas Noe was finally born at 1:07a.m, August 28,2005. The grandparents were on the cell phones to hear his first cry. Our precious boy, that we had been praying about for 2 years, was finally here. After 3 short hours of sleep, it was time to start preparing for all our visitors on Sunday morning after church.
